Upgrade to Version 4.8.0

Service Software would like to announce the release of our Punchlist Manager.NET™ and Inspection Manager.NET Version 4.8.0. This release contains several changes and improvements to our award-winning applications.

New Features and Improvements:

    Added Features:
  • Scheduling across multiple days, system now requires a start date/time and end date/time, replacing the previous input of date, time and duration. This affects quick edit, item detail, and division detail screens.
  • Scheduling control that facilitates a view of work scheduled over multiple days.
  • Added Production Schedule: The production schedule shows the resources on the left hand side of the page (Vendors, Technicians, and Employees) and along the top the days of the week. In the grid the Jobs/Owners are displayed and color coded based on the type of work.
  • Added Vendors/Technician Schedule view: Now you can view and report on a single Vendor/Tech schedule for the week.
  • Added Job/Owner Schedule view: Now you can view and report on a single Job/Owner schedule for the week.
  • Added Job/Owner Schedule Report that displays in week view the scheduled activity for a single Job/Owner. This report is located under To Do in brown toolbar.
  • Added Vendor/Technician Schedule Report that displays in week view the scheduled activity for a single Vendor/Technician. This report is located under To Do in brown toolbar.
  • Added a My Contacts capability to the application when browsing on the Contact Screen you can select to view “My Contacts” from Projects, Job/Owners, and Vendors/Technicians.
  • Added new Job/Owner mapping feature and the ability to select at System Settings the mapping reference to use; Google Maps, Yahoo Maps, Mapquest and Microsoft (live.com).
  • Added a new tab on Job/Owner Detail screen, “Additional Contacts”. This allows you to add additional contact names such as: a referral, a public adjustor, etc.
  • Ability to change terminology on the first four (4) date fields (Start Date, Pre-Close Date, Contract Date and Sold Date) on the Job/Owner detail screen.
    Improved Features:
  • Added to utilities – View logons, the ability to see who is logged into the system.
  • Added to Correspondence the ability to select ‘To/From’ when documenting who you’re corresponding with.
  • Improved the Contact browser to allow for a search by custom fields and additional information related to Contacts. Added a double click function that will take you directly to the Contact Detail screen.
  • Altered the search parameters for Contacts to search for active status only.
    Reports:
  • Added New Report: Aging Open Work Order Report, which describes work order details, sorted by lot/block, then list type and age.
    Bug Fixes:
  • In some instances the item progress searches on Site management, were not respecting the terminology defined for item progress in system setup.
  • Terminology issues resolved within the application

PLEASE NOTE: There were bugs reported that can be fixed by clearing your temporary internet files folder, and by applying the suggested client side changes to each workstation that will be using our .NET™ application.

You will also want to add your .NET™ site to the "Trusted Sites" Zone in internet explorer to keep some features from being blocked by a Microsoft update.


Service Software is proud to release Version 3.6.0 of the Mobile Manager application. This release contains several changes and improvements to Mobile Manager:

New Features and Improvements:

    Added Features:
  • Added autosync mechanism so that it runs continuously while the user is logged in. This allows the user to send and receive data without stopping any work functions. The autosync functionality works in 30 minute (minimum) to 8 hour increments.
  • Added system setting to allow for the syncing of closed inspections/walkthroughs. This is a system level parameter that must be managed at the system setup level.
  • When a walk is closed, it automatically creates the list so that you do not have to move off the job and come back to it.
  • Scheduling allows for scheduling across multiple days. The scheduled event when clicked on from the schedule displays the details of the job.
    Improved Features:
  • Terminology throughout to respect NET setup.
  • When a new release is available, Mobile Manager automatically updates the application and closes. The user needs to click on a single update icon (extra mobile update icon is eliminated).
    Bug Fixes:
  • Fixed: Terminology issues with schedule and inspections.
  • Fixed: If no records in a table, sync repeatedly refreshes that table

In an effort to keep the consistency of our applications and their names manageable, we have changed the name of the executable that is used to run the mobile application. This change affects everyone who uses a mobile product from Service Software, LLC.

NOTE: Users running "Mobile Manager.NET Tablet Edition" will need to modify the properties of their shortcut icons and change the name of the executable that is being used. The target line in the properties of the shortcut icons will appear similar to the following (unless changed during install):
"C:\Program Files\PLMMobile\PLM.Mobile.exe"
or
"C:\Program Files\Service Software, LLC.\Mobile Manager.NET Tablet Edition\PLM.Mobile.exe"
(If you are running on a 64bit operating system, your path may begin like "C:\Program Files (x86)\" and should not be changed to match this example.)

Users will need to change PLM.Mobile.exe to MobileManager.exe and click OK for the icons to continue working. If assistance is needed, a Trainer will be able to assist with this.

The upgrades will be completed the night of June 20, 2009 for those customers hosted at Service Software, LLC.

These are only the beginning of the enhancements and changes that will be coming in the months ahead. We use your feedback to improve upon the application you have come to know and trust for your warranty needs.
